Back Pain

Back pain is one of the most common conditions that bring people to the Alexander Technique. Whatever the cause of your condition - disc protrusion, muscle tension, arthritis, spinal curvatures, etc. - the way you use your body directly affects its severity. If you compress your spine when you walk, sit, click a mouse or raise a cup of tea to your mouth, you aggravate your condition on a regular basses and interfere with the body's natural healing process.

Chiropractic adjustment, massage, drugs or surgery can be helpful in reducing the symptoms, but unless you change the movement habits that harm your body the benefits are temporary. Alexander Technique teaches you how you can identify those harmful habits and change them. It lifts the stress of overuse off your back and raises your awareness to the coordination of the whole body.
